    Hello,

    I want to remove the standard genesis navbar and replace it with completely custom HTML markup.

    I know that i need to use filters or actions or hooks or all three of those things in the function.php file, but im not really sure how to get started.

    Is anyone aware of a tutorial that explains how to do this? I have searched for about an hour already and have not found one.

    Maybe im using the wrong key words?

    This Forum has lots of excellent, independent Genesis developers. Think about hiring one.

    I'm guessing re: the following (incomplete) suggestions:

    After unregistering primary nav and secondary nav

    Register your custom menu?

    Select your hook

    add_action( 'genesis_before_header', 'genesis_do_nav' );

    Extra Guessing Here

    You need to replacegenesis_before_header with the hook location you want
    You need to replace genesis_do_nav
    How?
    genesis_do_nav is a function. I think you would have to define a custom function to add your custom menu
    with whatever you named your custom menu when you registered it.
