    Hello,

I have a rudimentary question about video players and formats. I'm having issues with video playback on mobile devices and I'm trying to sort out whether it is a plugin issue or something as simple as the wrong video format. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have been using JW Player Plugin with Outreach Pro for videos. The person editing my videos provides the final product as MP4s. The videos play well on a computer, but I have mixed results on mobile devices, like Android phones, iPhones, iPads, etc. When I say mixed results, it isn't only an issue of mobile responsiveness. The videos simply won't play at all.

Is the issue with the MP4 format? If that is the likely culprit, what format should I request from my video editor? If the issue is likely the plugin, is there a better (yet still easy to use) responsive video plugin than JW Player?

Here are a couple links to my site if you'd like to see how I'm using the videos. http://www.efa-rep.org/video-diavolo http://www.efa-rep.org/education (video playlist is near the bottom of the page)

    Thanks everyone.

    Video played fine.

I suggest you use special 3rd party video hosting for smoother video playback. If you cannot use Youtube, try vimeo to host and embed videos from.
