    Site: http://livelovepasta.com/

I have "Display Post Excerpts" in my Theme Settings and on my blog home page I'm only getting [...] at the end of the excerpt and there's no link to continue reading the full post. When we edit posts we always use the "Insert More Tag" feature after our first paragraph.

I found a code snippet to increase the excerpt length and changed it to 99 word but I'm still either getting a [...] or it just comes to an end (if the excerpt is less than 99 words) where we inserted the "Insert More Tag", still no link to continue reading.

Anyone know what else I have to change to get this working.

Instead of using post excerpts, choose "display post content" and set a character limit underneath. That should give you the read more link.

If you'd prefer to use the more tag, don't use the content limit - Genesis should pick it up automatically.

I tried that but then since I need "Show Featured Image" checked, I get duplicate images from both the Post Content and the Featured Image, is there a work-around this way?

Ultimately I'd like to only have the first post on the blog home page be full content followed by 4 others showing only excerpt, then at the same time all archives strictly being grid images as is now.

But that's getting off topic 😉

Are you using the grid plugin for your archives? If so, you could try using a home.php that contains the grid to get the blog homepage working the way you want it to.

Are you getting the double featured image on the homepage or on single posts?

Just on the home page, and I think I saw a code snippet somewhere where there was a way to exclude the featured image but I couldn't get it to work.

I am using the grid plugin strictly for the archives. I'm trying to achieve something similar to this site where there is a full content post followed by excerpts along with all archives being strictly grid layout: http://pinchofyum.com/

As you can see from their site, the "Read More" text is included in both the full feature as well as the following excerpts.

In that case, you'd probably want to widgetize your homepage if it isn't already. If you added a home top and home bottom widget area, you could use the Genesis Featured Widget Amplified plugin to display one full post in home top, followed by whatever number of posts you want in home bottom (offset by 1 so it doesn't repeat the full post) with a content limit instead of an excerpt. That would give you "read more" at the bottom of each post in home bottom.
