    Hi,

I am working on a site and the person wants to have a homepage/landingpage where the visitor can choose between multiple sites. Those sites are for offices in different countries. When they choose his office I want them to go to the main page with widgets (like front page altitude pro theme).

    My thoughts:
    - Put the landing page as front page in wp settings, then alter the page with sections and widget areas so that I can display them on another page.
    - Build a normal html page and let it somehow come first
    - some plugin?

    How would you approach this?

    Thnx

    Hi,

I guess you have already decided on a strategy.

I would probably try your first idea, setting a static page as front page and use the "front page" widget areas on the "main" page.
There are also a number of splash page plugins on the repo, e.g.

    wordpress.org/plugins/wp-splash-page/
    wordpress.org/plugins/very-simple-splash-page/

Hi Christopher, thank you for your reply.

Using the widget areas for the 'main'page is also my favorite idea. I am puzzeling how I would do that. I would have to set a static page as my front page. Then the home widgets should be somehow connected to another page. I am looking at the centric theme now and that means the front-page.php should be edited?

What are your thoughts with this?

    thnx

    Hi,

you will have to rename front-page.php, turn it into a page template and assign that page template to page.

Thank you Cristoph. This worked out fine. No problems at all. Nice solution for other sites as well 🙂
