    Hi there! I've tried 5 times to submit a question to the Design Tips & Tricks forum, and for some reason it just never shows up. I tried 3x last night and twice again today.

    My issue is with the Scribble theme -- my custom header gets all scrunched up to the left of the default black box header. I've resized the default header dimensions in the functions.php file (per another thread on a similar topic) so that it will take a 940 x 334 header, and that seems fine, but why it won't load it across the top is a mystery. Please help! Thanks!

    You will also need to change the dimensions under the header section in your child themes style.css file so the match the size of your header.

    The Custom Header uploader only deals with uploading the image.

    #header {
    	background: url(images/bg-header.png) top repeat-x;
    	min-height: 334px;
    	margin: 0 0 10px;
    	overflow: hidden;
    }

    #title-area {
    	background-color: #333;
    	float: left;
    	height: 100px;
    	overflow: hidden;
    	padding: 0;
    	text-align: center;
    	width: 250px;
    }

    /* Image Header - Partial Width
    ------------------------------------------------------------ */

    .header-image #title-area,
    .header-image #title,
    .header-image #title a {
    	display: block;
    	float: left;
    	height: 334px;
    	overflow: hidden;
    	padding: 0;
    	text-indent: -9999px;
    	width: 250px;
    }

    /* Image Header - Full Width
    ------------------------------------------------------------ */

    .header-full-width #title-area,
    .header-full-width #title,
    .header-full-width #title a {
    	width: 960px;
    }

    960px is the recommended width for a full width header.

    I tried doing the code you suggested, but now the black header is just taller and my custom header is still scrunched to the left. Anything I missed?

    What i suggest you do is take each rule which uses a value for height and copy it to the end of your child themes style.cs file.

    There you can change the value for the height.

    Your width is perfect so no need to change it.
