Hi,
I'm having a simple issue but it seems to be more complicated than expected. I'm using Premise membership plugin, and by default the plugin display this text for pages that are not accessible by members:
"Please Log in to view this content." I'd like to change this message to a more custom message which explain to visitors that they should be members in order to view this content and encourage them to subscribe.I contacted the support team on Premise and they said that there's no way to customize that text..unless I use a translations file. Well, something as basic as that is not possible to customize with Premise, there's no shortcodes. We can do many things with Premise but not change or customize the basic text that non-members will read to access your websites.
Anyway, so I tried to edit the languages .po files and include my modifications with PoEdit. I'm not sure though if I can include some div and html code because I want that message to appear as a box.
I have edited and saved into .mo files now I uploaded the file on the same language folder and it doesn't take effect. No support or answer yet from Premise team and it looks like there's no instructions from Premise regarding translations.
Hope someone will help me here from the forum.
Many thanks,

I'm using PoEdit which is the software usually used to translate themes and plugins. It generates a mo files and normally when uploading the mo files it works; But in this case, I don't know why it doesn't work.
May 26, 2014 at 6:58 pm #106889AnitaCKeymasterHummm, well... I don't think it would hurt to try it, especially if you are having some difficulty and at least until someone from the Premise team responds back to you. Let me sent out a Tweet for you to see if anyone is available.

May 27, 2014 at 11:46 am #107012hichMemberSo in fact the plugin works great, however there's something we should do in order for the translation to take effects. First, create a folder named languages: wp-content/languages after we need to edit the wp-config.php file and change the default language there to "en_US". And in order to make it work, we need to upload the en_US.mo file into wp-content/languages.
Do not use the premise default files names it will not work. We have to use the conventional names for the languages en_UK, en_US etc...
All the modifications take effect on the plugin only if you made these changes....not easy to guess without any instructions..May 27, 2014 at 11:48 am #107013AnitaCKeymasterWow, so glad you figured that out. I learn something new every day or at least I try to.

May 30, 2014 at 8:21 am #107472SabineMemberI have the exact same problem and try to figure out a solution that works. The support could not help me too. I translated the file to german, but the premise-de_DE.po and .mo file only takes part of the translation. The other Idee was to change it in the short-code.php file.
Uploading the premise-de_DE.po and mo file to the wp-content/languages solved part of the problem. The button text is still in english. Part of the Headlines of the shortcodes on the checkout and payment page are still in english.
Any idea how to solve this too?
