    Hi,

I have a question that I've asked a few developers before and not really received a response. I have designed a few WordPress themes on the framework and have been trying to sell them on Etsy.

Currently I sell them as they come and advise buyers that they need to purchase the Genesis Framework separately in order for this theme to work. I feel the reason I'm not getting any buyers is because of this.

I have noticed that a lot of a well-known (and better designed) themes on Etsy seem to come with the Genesis Framework included in the theme package and I wondered what the rules were for this?

Do you need to purchase a different license? I know Genesis is open license but I've always been advised to tell my customers they need to purchase the framework themselves? What happens if I included the Genesis Framework theme in my instant download with my child-theme? Is that legal?

Thank you for any help you can provide!

They are not doing this with our permission and if their clients come to us looking for official support we ask them to buy their own copy.
