In https://www.studiopress.community/topic/uprading-wordpress-giant-leap-4-0-x-to-4-7-x/ I explained how we are upgrading from WP 4.0.x to 4.7.x and solicited input while doing that. I had 2 great reminders about not working on the live website and not upgrading the child theme (Magazine Pro in our case).
I used All-in-One WP Migration to clone the 4.0.16 site from MountPleasantMagazine.com to a fresh install of 4.7.3 on AppsForSocialMedia.com to do all of the upgrading needed. Update Genesis, some plugins, remove some unnecessary themes and then look at the website.
It all looks fine to me and I'm ready to upgrade WordPress on MountPleasantMagazine.com to 4.7.3 and use All-in-One WP Migration to move the upgraded site back - which overwrites the existing site.
We'd like to know if anyone out there could work with me tomorrow Wednesday to help us make sure everything goes smoothly and I haven't missed anything.
I'm not even sure this is the place to make this request. Any takers or comments?
