Hi, I'm a real rookie and have a blog where individual posts can be very long. I want to be able to break these posts in multiple pages. I installed a plugin for this, but an error came up (see below). I'm using the 1140 Pro theme and just want simple page numbers or next/previous to show at the bottom so I can have several pages instead of one uber post.

    Can anyone help?

    Pagination Function: File not Found
You'll want to verify your theme uses the wp_link_pages function, which is the preferred, best-practices WP pagination function.

Usually, this function appears in the single.php template, but it might also be elsewhere. If your theme doesn’t include this function, you’ll want to swap it in.

What about the WordPress nextpage tag <!--nextpage-->? You can place it wherever you want to break your content. As this tag is a default WordPress feature, you don't even need the plugin.

Thanks Ren! I got the nextpage tag working and it shows up at the bottom left corner, under my social icons like in this post

The numbers are really hard to see and I'd like to use a plug in that allows me to format the page numbers, move them to the centre etc. Does a Genesis compatible plugin exist that would allow me to do these things?

Not that I'm aware of. You probably just need some CSS to style them. CSS isn't difficult and a little knowledge can get you a long way so that might be something to consider.

Thanks Ren, I was kinda expecting that CSS would be the answer. From what I have found online it seems that those changes would need to be made to the Genesis framework, which I find a bit more intimidating than making changes to the theme.

Well, you aren't directly editing Genesis, which is the parent theme. Your customizations are made to your child theme. I just want to emphasize not making any edits within the core Genesis theme folder because it's dangerous and any successful edits will be overwritten when Genesis is updated.
