The other day I received 8 identical emails all to one of my email addresses, informing me that there is a Genesis update:

    Title:
Genesis 2.2.3 is available for http://www.mydomain.com

    Content:
Genesis 2.2.3 is now available. We have provided 1-click updates for this theme, so please log into your dashboard and update at your earliest convenience.

I use Genesis for more than one site, yet I only received the notification for one site only (8 emails).

The problem is that a friend of mine received one of these emails also, and his email is not one of the WP users set up on the site.

I have created a Genesis site for him, but he didn't receive the notification asking him to update Genesis on his domain... just one of mine.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

    Thanks for reading.

This seems to be an issue for some folks all of a sudden.

To me this is NOT a Genesis issue rather an SMTP issue with your server/host. I would reach out to them.

ALSO there is a spot within Genesis here - http://glui.me/?i=o9t9q9ipm2c0f9y/2015-10-14_at_9.03_AM.png/

Mine is left blank so I don't get an email every time.

    Hope that helps

    Thanks Matthew,
I think I will leave my update field without an email address, as you suggested.

But as for SMTP and my hosting company, how could this formulate a 'Genesis email'?
    I don't understand.
