MemberThis is what copyblogger sent me:
The "Altitude Pro" theme is different from "Parallax Pro", because it uses fixed-image background property of CSS, without any JavaScript like "Parallax Pro".

MemberSo with my little experience I'm guessing that the less Javascript the better?

MemberI guess that depends on how you want the site to work and who your target audience is. I have a customer who likes the movement of Parallax Pro using the Javascript but the design of Altitude Pro... wanting both rolled together into one.

MemberYou might try using the Parallax Pro theme...because your customer likes the "movement"...apparently it doesn't give him/her that queasy feeling some people get when confronted by the two motions in different directions...ha ha ha...but since the customer likes that movement, use the Parallax Pro theme, and just alter the other parts a bit...use some different graphics, etc...to get it looking more like the Altitude Pro theme.
Although design and "look and feel" are pretty subjective, the two themes really do have a lot of similarities.

MemberMoody, I tried getting my client to purchase the Parallax Pro but they didn't want to purchase it because they liked the design of Altitude better and that they already purchased Altitude Pro. I was tempted to create a mockup of both and let them see that there really isn't much different when you change fonts and some styling.

MemberHi Guys,
For what it's worth, I've spent considerable time with both Parallax Pro and Altitude Pro. In the end I chose Altitude because it was just a better fit for my project.
Keep in mind that the parallax background image "look" was hot about a year ago, but it's current popularity is declining rapidly. Also, it can be a real challenge to find suitable images that benefit from the effect.
Though lacking the parallax element, the Altitude theme does have an interesting "scroll fade" feature for the home page background images.
I hope this helps. Cheers.

MemberWhat @detroitwidget said about parallax stuff being hot but now fading...I agree with that 100 percent...one more reason to use the Altitude Pro theme (if that's the look you're going for).
