I have tried to use the Archive template on a page using the Lifestyle Pro theme. However, this page will not load. It attempts to load for several minutes and eventually returns the 502 error.
I thought there might be an issue trying to load the archive from the parent genesis theme, so I copied Page_Archive.php file to the Lifestyle Pro theme folder, and the archive template still will not work.

Is there something that needs to been adjusted in the functions.php file to get the custom post template to work?

You can't do that with Genesis.

You need to use the Template File Hierarchy

Genesis comes with the archive template.

What I want to know is why it isn't working.

Even before I copied the archives file from the genesis theme folder to the lifestyle pro folder it is not working.

I have read somethings about having to add custom post types to the functions.php, but what I don't understand is why they would deliver it (and sell it) with that template available and then require custom coding. In addition, I can't seem to find the steps to code this.
