    Hi,

    I recently switched to the beautiful Balance theme. I am really happy with ‘the looks’ of my website (despite the fact that it isn't finished yet), but there is also a negative ‘side effect’. My page load time with my previous theme was approximately 1 second. With the Balance (or just the Genesis theme) this increased to 6/10 seconds. When I switch back to my previous theme it turns back to 1 second.

    The strange thing is that my ‘Pingdom score’ (84/100) and Google Page Speed Insights Score (91/100) improved and my Page Size is much smaller (272 kb instead of 1 mb).

    I’m using the following plugins:

    - Codestyle Localization
    - Contact form 7
    - Flickr Pick a Picture
    - Google Analytics for WordPress
    - Google XML Sitemaps
    - Image Widget
    - Social Sharing by Danny
    - Table of Contents Plus
    - Viral Quiz Builder
    - Ultimate Tiny MCE
    - W3 Total Cache
    - WordPress SEO
    - WYSSJA Newsletters

    I think the problem has something to do with the theme, but I don't know what. I have tried a lot of things (different cache/minifying settings) but I cannot find a proper solution. Is there anyone who knows a possible solution for this? I will be forever grateful 😉 Thanks in advance.

    In addition to my previous post:

    According to the Pingdom analysis the load time has something to do with:

    - css?family=Lora:400,700 (2.05 second wait)
    - css?family=Lora:400,700 (again mentioned) (1.31 second wait)
    - Header.png (1.77 second wait)

    Is this something that can be fixed easily by someone with very little technical knowledge? Advice is welcome!

    It's getting worse and worse. Average page speed of 15/20 seconds now 🙁 Is there anyone who knows how I can solve the above-mentioned problems (css?familie=Lora:400,700 and Header.png)?

    Hi,
    Have you ever resolved your page speed issue? I am also having similar problems, tried W3TC, browser cache, g-zip, minify js, css and html files. Not much improvement, any other suggestions?

    Use google pagespeed tool,I am using it on my http://www.wapkacode.net site.
