MemberI just purchased the Runway theme and for the life of me can’t get the page break (read more) function to work. I keep inserting it (and you can see it in the code) but when you look at the post on the blog, the entire post is there. There is no sign of a page break. Any clue on how to fix this? I have the same issue whether I have the site set up as a static front page or latest posts. Thanks!!

MemberThe site should be set up to show the latest posts, but I'm a little confused when I look at the site - it looks like you're either using a widgetized homepage or the grid loop plugin, then when I click on a post I get a summary with the read more link, then I have to click through again to see the whole post. Can you explain a little more about how things are set up right now versus how you want them to be?

MemberThe site can be set up to show the latest posts (you need to remove code for that) or how I have it set up with the grid on the front (I'm not using a plugin for that). If you click on the test post, you will see "continue reading" under the photo but that is only there b/c I installed the Better Read More plugin. Without the plugin, the page break button doesn't work. I'd just like to be able to use the page break without the need of a plugin. (thanks for responding by the way. 🙂

MemberI guess I'm just not comprehending today (which is entirely possible and happens a lot). So you want the read more link on the grid? Or you want it like it is now, where people have to click through twice to get to the content? I guess I'm not understanding why someone would need to click through two different pages to read a blog post.

MemberI want it like it is now. I saw it on another blog that uses this theme and I really liked it (smartschoolhouse.com).....I just don't know how to make it happen. No big deal though. I thought it might be a theme issue.

MemberIt looks like she is using a plugin to break her posts into multiple pages - if you look at the bottom of a post, you'll see the pagination links. So it's not that she's using an excerpt; she's simply including an image that links to Page 2 of each post.

MemberNo problem! And never underestimate the power of emailing to ask what plugin she's using - I've done that many times. 🙂
