The "Next Page" link at the bottom of this static front page (blog template) re-displays the first 10 posts rather than moving to the next set of 10 posts (there are 30 or so posts in the category that is displayed on this blog page).

    http://visualarts.ednabrewer.net

    - WordPress: 4.1
    - Genesis: 2.1.2
    - customized old Church Child theme on this site: 1.1
-but- I see same behavior on newer Magazine Pro 3.1

    - Static Front Page
    - That page uses blog template
    - Settings->Reading->blog pages show at most: 10 posts
    - Genesis->Theme Settings->Blog Page Template->Number of posts to show: 10

    - recently updated permalinks

    any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Hi,
I am not seeing any pagniation when I visit the link. It does take a very long time to load all the images in each of the posts.

Thanks for the reply! Sorry - I contacted Studiopress support on this issue. I've set the number of posts-per-page to a high number now so there is no pagination.

The cause of this is a twisted path, but here is the short story:

On this site, instead of using the default configuration to display latest posts on front page, it was set to static front page, with that Page set to use a blog template. In that case, apparently the "Next Page" simply does not work. The solution is to use the standard method - set Settings->Reading->Front Page Displays->(your latest posts).

On our site, apparently there were some custom modifications to home.php that had the effect of hard-wiring the Static Front Page mode, so as long as we use that modified theme, we're out of luck.

    Thanks again!

Just a suggestion, but your main page is taking a very long time to load and that won't help SEO. Posts per page would drastically improve your page load times.... that's why that feature exists.
