MemberDoes anyone know whether the News Pro child theme will be getting an upgrade soon? Looks like Metro Pro got a very recent upgrade. I hope accessibility will again be at the top of the list of upgrades with all the lawsuit shakedowns lately. (version 3.2.1 prioritized accessibility but I'm sure there with two years having passed, accessibility knowledge among Genesis theme developers has increased).

KeymasterThat's a question you should write to StudioPress about - https://www.studiopress.com/contact/. We wouldn't know that here on the community forum.
You can add in accessibility on your own by using the Genesis Accessible plugin especially if you have modified your version of News Pro. You may also need to fine tune you version of News Pro.
Metro Pro has not been updated since 2017. I think you may be referring to Magazine Pro which has always been a top seller for StudioPress, hence the upgrade.
Also keep in mind, that the new updated versions will be "block based" on the home pages and not "widget based". You would not be able to just replace the new News Pro (if it's upgraded) with your old version for that reason alone.

MemberThank you Anita for your response. Yes, you are right. I meant Magazine Pro. And, yes, I already use the accessibility plugin though it's far from a cure-all. As a litigator who has defended businesses sued for WCAG non-compliance (alleged as an ADA violation), I'm acutely concerned about this issue. How will "block-based" work differently than widget-based? In particular, I use the Genesis Featured Post widget (as well as others) that place certain content and with certain CSS attributes in the columns.

KeymasterThat really needs to be answered by StudioPress and the WordPress community as a whole, but I've asked in the Genesis group if someone experienced in accessibility could chime in here.

Keymaster@wadams9 - I'm David with WP Engine / StudioPress. As Anita pointed out, if you could submit a support ticket with any specific observations around accessibility in News Pro, we'd love the feedback. Accessibility is definitely an area we focus on. We're not currently planning an update for News Pro this quarter, but your feedback may likely be helpful for a future release. Thanks!
