Hi, I tried to add a Fraktur font for the banner of my newspaper site.
I inserted a Font-Face entry at the top of style.css, added (via ftp) a directory named fonts to the respective directory in wp-content and copied the *ttf file into this directory. Doesn't work and home page gets shot to pieces.
Neither StudioPress nor my ISP can/want to help.
Has anybody ever added a new font to his web site in this way? Any plugins that could do this?
Thanks and all the best.
H.

This is a major problem because it limits the ability of users to customize their content and make it stand out from the crowd.
The issue is that when users try to add a new font to their articles, the font does not appear in the list of available fonts. This means that they are unable to use the font they have selected, which can be extremely frustrating. The issue open to be a bug in the software, as the font will appear in the list of available fonts when the user first selects it, but then disappears when they try to apply it.

Check Syntax in style.css:
Ensure that the Font-Face entry in your style.css file is correctly formatted. Here's an example:css
Copy code
@font-face {
font-family: 'YourFontName';
src: url('path/to/your/font.woff2') format('woff2'),
url('path/to/your/font.woff') format('woff');
font-weight: normal;
font-style: normal;
}body {
font-family: 'YourFontName', sans-serif;
}
Replace 'YourFontName' with the desired name and adjust the 'url' paths accordingly.Verify Font File Paths:
Double-check that the font files are uploaded to the correct directory. In your case, it should be in the "fonts" directory inside the "wp-content" directory.Check Browser Console for Errors:
Use your browser's developer tools to inspect the console for any errors related to loading the font files. This can provide valuable information about what might be going wrong.Fallback Font:
To prevent layout issues, include a fallback font in your CSS. If your custom font fails to load, the browser will use the fallback font.css
Copy code
body {
font-family: 'YourFontName', sans-serif;
}
Clear Browser Cache: https://vidmate.click
Sometimes, browsers cache old versions of stylesheets. Clear your browser cache or try accessing the site in an incognito/private browsing window to see if the issue persists.Plugin Alternative:
If you encounter difficulties, you can consider using a plugin like "Use Any Font" or "Custom Fonts" to simplify the process of adding custom fonts to your WordPress site. These plugins often provide a user-friendly interface for uploading and managing custom fonts.Remember to backup your site before making significant changes, and if you're still facing issues, seeking assistance from a developer or a WordPress community forum might provide more specific insights into the problem.

Ensure that the font you are trying to add is in a supported format. Common font formats include TrueType (.ttf), OpenType (.otf), and Web Open Font Format (.woff). If the font is in a different format, consider converting it to a compatible format before attempting to add it to News Pro to the US LLC registrationCorrect Installation:
Verify that the font is properly installed on your system. You can do this by checking your computer's font management settings. If the font is not installed correctly, reinstall it and restart your system before attempting to use it in News Pro. -
