    So, does anyone have any big plans to see in the New Year? In our house, we aren't big party goers, but we have an annual tradition of "Family Rock Band" night - we set up the Rock Band game, and jam for a few hours. Competition for the drums is fierce! We are usually in bed by midnight.

    What about New Year's Resolutions? Despite the fact that I've usually broken mine before the first week in January is done, I still continue to make them. This year, the goal will be the same as last year - lose the weight that keeps creeping up on me.

    What about you? Party plans? Resolutions?

    I never do anything. I stay home and watch all the festivities on TV with my dog and eat snacks. I order Chinese food and just cuddle in the blanket! My friend is going to a party and he's going to use Bambuser on his phone to stream the party live over the internet. So I will tune in to watch some of the party too. Resolutions... to lose this weight! Put me and the dog on a serious diet. But also to move... get out of here, go south and begin a new journey.

    I am normally working 2nd shift but have to go into work tomorow at 7a.m. on first shift. I  am used to going to bed around 4a.m. as I tend to work on my blog after hours when not doing my other stuff I am dedicated to. There is no way I can fall asleep way early tonight. I suspect I'll have maybe 2 hours the most of sleep tonight. lol

    Don't have any plans for New Years eve to go out. Working on finding a friend or relative who has an expresso machine so I can stop by there after work for a cup or 2 to keep me awake. I'm going out to dinner after work and then watching new years at home. To top things off, i'm still sick and been cranky the past 2 day's.

    This going to be a fun way to end 2012. lol

    My resolution for 2013 is to find a new job within the next 2 months or i'll have to take a big risk to make up a large portion of income.

    @snakeair - in my job, I have to go in at 1am or 2am at least once a month, after working a full day the day before, so I know what you mean about not getting much sleep - it's really hard to condition your body to go to bed early when you're not doing it on a regular basis. On those occasions, I manage to get two hours of sleep, and then chug a 5 hour energy drink at 2 in the morning...

    Good luck with the New Year's goals!

    @anitac
    - you should definitely head on south - I relocated from Chicago to Texas three years ago with my job, and haven't regretted it for a moment. 🙂

    We're having a bunch of friends over, smoking a big prime rib and cooking some tri-tip along with roasted potatoes and asparagus.  Chocolate Soufflé for dessert. 😉

    Here's a site I did a while back using Genesis to help people who like to smoke meat - http://meatsmokingcalculator.com

    Regarding the New Year:

    2012 was a strange year.  It's been a while since I was so focused on the negative.

    2013 - focus on the positives, read more, spend time re-educating myself rather than COD and most importantly, carve out more time for my wife, life and family.

    Happy New Year Everyone!

    John
