I was glad to see the addition of this plug-in as I thought it was one thing lacking from Genesis.

I've added it to a site but am completely baffled.

Simple enough to add a portfolio item but how are portfolio items displayed? Are there shortcodes that I cannot find? There doesn't seem to be a new page or post type to use in order to display them?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

    Hi Alex,

the plugin is using standard WordPress archive and portfolio links / URLs.

If you are using pretty permalinks, you will find the portfolio archive at http://www.yourwebsite.com/portfolio/ ,
the single portfolio items at http://www.yourwebsite.com/portfolio/title-of-the-item/

    Thanks Christoph,

I guess I had a different idea of what this plug-in was designed to achieve. I was hoping it was a way to display portfolio items, hopefully with some styling options, and be able to insert them into various parts of a site. I'm also wondering what the point is, how is it any different than featured posts?

No biggie, thanks for chiming in.

@Christoph Do you know if the links/urls can be renamed? So from http://www.yourwebsite.com/portfolio/ to http://www.yourwebsite.com/projects/ , for example?

@JC2 they can be renamed in the code, but I´m would not recommend it because the next update to the plugin will erase your customization.

You can make a suggestion to include the ability to change the slug and the name of the custom post type in the support forum for the plugin:
    https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/genesis-portfolio-pro
and / or the official Studiopress support at my.studiopress.com/help

https://wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-communities-cpt/ is a bit more flexible and might be a better solution for you.
