I'm sure this new forum works well for others, but unless I'm misunderstanding it all, perhaps 60% - 80% of the reason I visited is now gone.  I liked reading through problems people that people posted and seeing all of the responses.  It was a great learning tool.  Reading the tutorials and tips is great, but the real learning is done in the threads.  But not anymore with a large portion of the issue discussion going private.  Seems a waste not to leverage that valuable information out to all of us.

The other thing I liked was visiting my only area of interest - the AgentPress child theme section.  I could read everything that interested me in short order all in one subsection - it was great.  Real estate websites are very unique with IDX issues, etc and the Agentpress forum was one of the few places on the web catering to that market.  It was clearly its own community within the Agentpress community.  Now to see relevant posts now I have to wade through or search all of the other general community posts.  The AgentPress community eliminated in one stroke.

Should have left all as is and add one-on-one support with ticket threads made public upon resolution if appropriate.

As is, Definitely not better (for me).  Less valuable; less of a reason to visit.

You still have read access to all of the boards you had access to in the old forum & you can continue to look info up there.

@mediaguru - are you logged in on the old forum? That thread (and all the forums) works for me.

I'm with kayache. This is a major drop in product value. It's a sad day for me... 🙁

We can certainly appreciate that change is hard. The forums are now, and will continue to be, a community driven place for users to share ideas and solutions. The official support channel is limited to assisting with issues related to using StudioPress themes.  Topics pertaining to customization of StudioPress themes will be referred to the community forums. We are confident that, over time, the new forums will contain even better information than was previously available since we are able to encourage community members to participate in discussions, offer suggestions, and of course ask questions. This system is here to stay and will ultimately bring the best balance for both our users and our staff.

If you are looking at that thread to figure out how to set up Agentpress... please go to http://my.studiopress.com/ and click the "HOW TO" link.

That is where the theme setup tutorials live - not in the forums.
