MemberHello!
New to this forum and Genesis but not to WordPress.
I purchased my theme from a designer and I didn't have the Genesis license until now. I have a few issues and I could use some help. How do I make it so that I don't have to re-size images in Photoshop before adding them into a slider? Is there a way to just add them to a theme and it re-sizes itself?
Also I already have a Genesis theme and WP won't let me install it. Does this mean I must start from scratch? I'm not a designer really, I'm just trying to get my site to work the way I want it to work.
Thanks!

MemberI see that in the setup instructions for your theme, the designer shows you how to use the slider, and also shows that the maximum image width should be 1144 pixels and the maximum height should be 496 pixels. She also *suggests* that that's the size you should set your images to...even though it's possible that the slider will resize your images to fit, why not just avoid problems by following those instructions?
Your second question: You say you have a Genesis theme but WP won't let you install it. I don't know what that means...but you know...you have to first install the Genesis framework, and then install a Genesis child theme.

MemberHi photoadele72,
Install below mention plugin to your WordPress dashboard.
After that set the image size in Media setting page ,
then click Tools > reg.thumbnail option to regenerate your images without Photoshop 🙂Plugin URL: https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/screenshots/

MemberPerhaps you can, but I wouldn't recommend doing it. If you're uploading photos larger than you display them, it still takes time to download the photo at the original resolution and then display it the size you want. That's slowing down your site, and people leave slow sites.
Sliders use the same dimensions for each photo, so give it what it wants. If you want the visitor to see a larger view of the photo when someone clicks, send them to another URL with the larger version of the photo. That way you eliminate delay for most of your visitors and it won't take so much time to load just one larger image.
