    Hi,

This is my first post here, I have just purchased the Genesis framework along with the Focus Pro Theme. Now firstly I have no idea how to edit code, I am not very fluent with HTML or CSS.

I am wanting to make customization changes to my theme, such as colour adjustments etc, but more importantly I want to be able to place a border around a text widget that I have on my site. At the moment the widget blends in too much with the page, So a border would be great.

Can this be done without editing the code? Also are there any customization plugins for this theme to help me out?

    Thanks
    Jamie

Well worth spending time on learning how to use a tool like Firebug http://www.studiopress.com/tips/using-firebug.htm

Can't use Firebug unless have access to your site.

Yes, we need a link to your site in order for anyone to provide much help on specific questions. The question you asked does require code modification (probably) but it sounds like a simple thing that you will change in your style.css file.

You might also look into the Genesis Extender plugin:

There is a learning curve with this stuff; be prepared for some frustration along the way. Genesis is awesome but learning Genesis at the same time as you're learning WordPress (if that's the case) and not knowing how themes are set up can be a lot. Be sure to keep backups on hand in case you clobber something, so that you can restore a file and be back in business easily.
