    I have the Beautiful Pro theme and my page is right now a mess.... how do I add the sidebars as they should be. The widgets that were there are now showing inactive. It seems like I need to modify my content length for starters as its the whole width of the page, just looking for some direction. I am very new at this and freaking out, my website looks like crud. Any guidance is appreciated.

    Julie,

    You're right, your site looks pretty wonky right now. Can you let me know what changes you've made to it recently? It looks like maybe you removed a line from the functions file that you need: enabling HTML 5 markup.

    Add this line: http://my.studiopress.com/snippets/html5/

    I was trying to add a "continue reading" tab to my posts. I checked and that code IS in there.

    When I messed things up, I added
    //*Modify the Read More Link Appearance
    .more-link {
    background-color: #F05123;
    padding: 4px 8px;
    border-radius: 4px;
    -moz-box-shadow: 1px 1px 1px 1px #d4d4d4;
    -webkit-box-shadow: 1px 1px 1px 1px #d4d4d4;
    box-shadow: 1px 1px 1px 1px #d4d4d4;
    }

    .more-link:hover {
    background-color: #9C2C0B;
    }

    .entry-content a.more-link {
    color: #fff;
    font-size: 90%;
    }

    And it didn't work and well then I couldn't access my site, so I deleted that code. Since then, NONE of the original formatting for the theme seems to be in place.

    I can't see the PHP Child Theme file from WP, though I do see it on my host.

    Where did you add the above code? (BTW, use the code tags for that information in the future.)

    Your CSS file seemed to be working to me, only your HTML structure wasn't what it needed to be, in order to appropriately use said CSS. I'd say something is up in your functions file - can you upload a fresh copy via FTP? Then if it's fixed you can slowly add back any changes you made and see where the problem was.
