I have my settings under the Content Archives to show the featured image at 720x500. I added support to my theme for "featured image" at 720 x 500. But when my content archives are displayed, I get a 500x500 image hard-cropped. When I choose my image for a post in the dashboard, it's showing up 500x500 hard-cropped in the featured image area. But my images are 720x500 in my media library. I have run regenerate thumbnails, but I'm still getting a 500x500 image on displays in both the dashboard and my content archives page.

My settings for media are thumbnail: 156x225, medium: 300x300, and large: 1024x1024

    Hi,

What image (size) is actually loaded?
Do you have CSS rules that set the image size to 500x500?

Actually, I figured it out a few weeks ago. I needed to change my setting to "medium" and my CSS took over. My CSS is height: 350px and width: auto. All is well now.
