    Hi all,

My blog (http://thegoldfishtank.com) is saying that users must be registered and logged in to comment - even though I have that option unchecked in settings.

After the comments section it says:

"You must be logged in to post a comment."

And clicking "logged in" takes you to a WordPress sign in screen. However, in Settings / Discussion I have this option...

"Users must be registered and logged in to comment"

    ...UNchecked.

I do have a plugin called WP-United installed, which links my phpbb forum users to WordPress, so that could potentially be causing a problem..?

To be honest, I wouldn't mind if people had to join the forum to comment. It's that they currently get taken to a WordPress login screen that I definitely don't want...

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!
    Adam

    Hi,
I can't see the inside of your site, but I'm guessing you're running into this normal WordPress problem: you may have shut off commenting long after you had tons of Posts. If so, the problem is generally that you have to turn off commenting per page as well. Though this sounds horrendous, it can be done quickly following ideas seen here:

    http://wpteach.com/turning-comments-off-in-wordpress/

If that's not it, then someone will probably need to go into your site to see what's going on.

    Dave
