I have a few custom post type archives which now all use the standard 150x150 featured image size.

I would like to change the featured image size of one of the custom post type archives.

I know how to register a new size in functions.php but I do not know how to implement it on that particular archive page.

You'll need to create an archive-custom_post_type_name.php file in your child theme folder under wp-content/themes/theme-name/ and then filter the image output. The two articles below should be able to help you:
