    I have put the more tag into a post and set the excerpt settings to only 5 characters in the slider settings , but it still continues to show as much text as possible.

    When I view the text in Firebug, it shows my more tag being at the bottom of the paragraph when that is not the case in the actual post.

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Solved! I found that if I clicked "Display Post Content" instead of "Display Post Excerpt" in the Slider Settings and limited the characters that's when the slider only shows some text!
