I have a StudioPress theme with a Genesis framework. The Genesis doesn't allow file editing from inside the admin area like standard wordpress does. How can these files such as css be edited quickly without going threw the process of ftp back and forth just to check out what your small change looks like. Most of the time when I want to change something in css or even other files, its a trial and error to see how it looks. Is there an easy way with Genesis.

Use Firebug from the front end or Modify the style.css file from your theme editor.

Genesis doesn't allow file editing from the theme editor. I will look into the firebug.

    That is incorrect.

If you are on Synthesis, they have turned off the WordPress editor. The base Genesis theme has nothing in it to do this.
