ParticipantI have the Studiopress Lifestyle theme that I bought along with the Genesis framework about 5 years ago.
The big thing now is "Mobile Friendly".
I noticed that there now is a Mobile Friendly Lifestyle theme available and I was wondering if just buying that child them is good enough, or do you actually have to buy a new version of the Genesis Framework too? I'm hoping that the Mobile Friendly characteristics are basically done in the child theme, not requiring buying the newer version of Genesis.
Thanks!

MemberHi,
you should have the updated version of the lifestyle theme in your Studiopress account.

ParticipantChristoph,
Thanks...I didn't realize that I'd get a big update...like the Pro version...free since I've already purchased the Lifestyle Theme a few years back. I did login, and was able to downlip the Pro zip file.
Thanks again.

ParticipantIt is a unique update policy for sure. I didn't even think of checking...almost bought the Pro version today...and I noticed that since I was a "returning" customer, I could get the Theme for $34 I think instead of $99, or something like that. I immediately assumed the Pro version was not a free update.
Do you know, if the Pro version installs right over the old one? Or, is this a complete re-design of your blog?

MemberIt is not going to install over your old theme.
It will install in the lifestyle-pro folder and create a new theme you can select in the theme settings.I wouldn´t call it a complete redesign but it´s quite some work.
Menus and widgets have to be selected again (widgets might be found in the Unused Widgets area)
You cannot just copy and paste your old css.
The names of a many css-elements have changed due to HTML5 support in the pro version.
If you have made changes in the functions.php you might have to adjust them to new hook names.I strongly recommend making a backup of your live website, installing the backup on a separate domain, subdomain or folder and making your changes there.
Once you are finished with the adjustments, backup this new version and install it on your live site.
