Misaligned Widget Content on Blog Page

Hi, I have maybe just a little problem with alignment using a hooking function.

If you will look at this screenshot [https://www.dropbox.com/s/y4k0zzh16pov39w/normal-center.png?dl=0] you'll see I was able to create and add content to a widget area on this page/category, http://kabolobari.com/book.

However, when I do just about the same on the blog page, look at the screenshot [https://www.dropbox.com/s/qjnzw5jky62oliv/squished-left.png?dl=0] I get the widget content squished to the left and I can't understand why, because there's nothing in my CSS that I know might have caused it.

Here's the code I used:

     ) );
}

I'm really not that good with coding and "debugging?" I'm guessing is the word, a problem like this is tough for me. Could I implore you to direct me where I may be getting it wrong.
