Is there a simple way to replace header (top left) text with a logo of same size?  I assume this is done in <Appearance<Header but looks like its calling for an image that 960 x 115.  I just want my 200 x 115 logo to replace the text.  Where/how is this done in Magazine theme?  Thank you.

You need to make the image 960x115.  Within that image, you can make the logo smaller and position it left, but the entire size needs to be 960x115.

You can add your logo to a background which is 960?—115 and make the background transparent using a tool like Paint.net or Gimp
