Hi there, I'm finishing up a website using the Magazine Pro child theme. I have two sidebars: the primary sidebar (that is used on the home page) and a custom sidebar for the interior pages. Both of those sidebars have the Genesis e-News extended widget at the top. It's integrated with Mail Chimp.
The opt-in box, using e-News Extended, works perfecting on the interior pages. However, on the home page, when you click in the First Name box the page immediately redirects to the "new-easy-ways-to-get-started" page. For the life of me, I can't figure out why. I checked the neighboring widget settings for any problems. I checked Firebug (maybe I'm missing something). I checked the e-News settings on the interior sidebar and compared them to the primary sidebar. Everything is the same.
Any thoughts as to why this might be happening? The website is:

I am not too familiar with the enews widget myself. Did you modify the widget or the template for the home page?
If you are NOT using conditionals to display the widget (using something like widget logic), then the problem is probably with your home page template file (if you want my two centavos).

Thanks for the kudos on the site!

Because looking at the html, there are definitely a tags wrapping your entire form:
<a href="http://simplehealthylivingblog.com/new-easy-ways-get-started/"> <form id="subscribe" action="//simplehealthylivingblog.us2.list-manage.com/subscribe/post?u=0817853c860681b13670408e8&id=0078f71a64" method="post" target="_blank" onsubmit="if ( subbox1.value == 'First Name') { subbox1.value = ''; } if ( subbox2.value == 'Last Name') { subbox2.value = ''; }" name=""> <label for="subbox1" class="screenread">First Name</label><input id="subbox1" class="enews-subbox" value="First Name" onfocus="if ( this.value == 'First Name') { this.value = ''; }" onblur="if ( this.value == '' ) { this.value = 'First Name'; }" name="FNAME" type="text"> <label for="subbox" class="screenread">E-Mail Address</label><input value="E-Mail Address" id="subbox" onfocus="if ( this.value == 'E-Mail Address') { this.value = ''; }" onblur="if ( this.value == '' ) { this.value = 'E-Mail Address'; }" name="EMAIL" required="required" type="email"> <input value="Send It!" id="subbutton" type="submit"> </form> </a>
Sorry I don't know what is causing it.
November 25, 2014 at 5:56 pm #132827lubsmith47ParticipantWell, I have five widgets in that primary sidebar. From the code you pasted above, I can definitely see the problem. An open tag could sure be it. I looked for those, but perhaps I need to go back, again, and look more closely. Thanks again for your help!
November 25, 2014 at 6:18 pm #132829anotherusernameParticipantWell, this might help:
I wonder if it is the error located at line 274???
Line 274, Column 425: An a start tag seen but an element of the same type was already open.
And more importantly:
Error Line 274, Column 425: Unclosed element a.

Pretty sure that <a/> is NOT what you wanted to write there...
November 25, 2014 at 7:28 pm #132834lubsmith47ParticipantI found it! There was no closing tag in the Home Bottom widget. It never ceases to amaze me how one tiny little slip can throw things off.
Thanks for all your help!

Always a good idea to use the validator when you are having CSS or html issues.
