Looking for various widgets

Hola.

I'm looking at Parallax and Minimum as theme choices for a site.

However, on other non-StudioPress themes I've seen some "widgety" features I'm interested in. Not sure what to call them.

Three big ones for me, for the kind of content I'm working with are:
* Tabbed sections on pages
* Show/Hide divs in posts/pages (Creativio theme calls these toggles)
* YouTube/Wistia easy embeds/posts

So, how could I get this functionality working on Parallax or Minimum? What do I search for to buy/add this functionality to those themes?

I think what you're looking for are plugins that provide the extra functionality you've described. They aren't usually built into the themes.

You can embed YouTube videos in posts using just the URL of the video now, it's a feature that's part of WordPress now.

The tabbed sections can be done using several plugins, one that I like and have used is WP UI

Hi guys,

We've just started looking at the same topic, tabbed content, and reading about WP UI as a possible plugin for our web build. Perfect timing!

We noticed that the plugin hasn't been since 2013 - do you know if it's still being actively supported? How customisable is it and how do you like it?

I installed Parralax this weekend and activated the plugin.

That made my widgets admin stop working. I couldn't drag any widgets around or open them.

I disabled WP UI and my widgets admin started working again.

So, once I finish working with my widgets, I can activate WP UI.

But that won't help in the future when I need to admin widgets again. All the tabbed content will be wonky while the plugin is deactivated.

So I'm on the fence about this plugin.

That was one of my concerns with the plugin as it doesn't seem to be compliant with the latest WordPress updates 🙁

Thanks for letting me know JohnnFour - I'll continue my search for a good Tabbed content plugin and fingers crossed I don't have to write it myself 🙂
