MemberI'd like to create a page like this Squidoo Postcards on my site using my existing Genesis theme.
Does anyone know of a WordPress plugin that would:
1) Create this layout for me easily
2) (Optional) Integrate with Amazon so I could just enter my affiliate ID and product ASBN, and it automatically populates a space on the page with a book or product cover sized to fit.
Note, I like the mouseover feature that gives a custom message. I think this is important for explaining why you're recommending the product (curating) instead of just throwing up a wall of images. So this would be a desired feature, too.

ModeratorIt's not a plug-in, and it's currently in Beta, but it looks like Genesis 1.9 may be able to assist with the new 1152 CSS Grid system:

MemberI would like this too, is there a way to try this now or do we have to wait for the official release?

Moderator@gmb - Genesis 1.9 is available in BETA mode right now, which means that it's available if you want to run it on a test site, but it's not recommended to use for a site that is currently live.

ParticipantI recently came across a free Pinterest style layout Genesis child theme that looks very close to the Postcard layout from Squidoo. It is great! You might be able use the Genesis Pin It theme (or parts of it) to achieve what you are seeking. Wrote a post about it

MemberThanks for responding to this thread!
@Susan - Genesis 1.9 Grid looks interesting. Does the grid work for dividing a page's content area up? Those blocks look more about carving up a site theme.
@Marc - That theme looks great! I only new a few pages on my site to have a Pintest or Squidoo Postcard look-and-feel. So I don't think the theme option will work for me.Maybe I should just build a table in a post. 😛

MemberYes, I am looking for the same capability as well.
That pinterest theme would be great as a plugin so that we can get that organization of content for a category but not be the look of the whole site.

ParticipantI was thinking rather than use the entire theme or build a table each time you need it in a post, that you could use some of the code of the Pin It theme to create a new page template in your current theme.

MemberOK, you have my interest...
how would one achieve such a thing 🙂

MemberThat's a good idea Marc. I didn't think of that. Snip and tweak the code and turn it into a plugin maybe?
I'm also looking at this as an option:
http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/It's not the exact functionality I'm after, but it seems close. It offers two layouts - slideshow and thumbnail gallery. The thumbnail galery option has several features including thumb size settings and captions.
It's on my to do list to check out more.

Participant@gmb - A lot of trial and test. Process could begin with taking the Pin It theme apart, see how it is creating the page. Add that functionality to your Genesis theme with a new template in your Genesis theme and adding some styling to the CSS for the new Pin style template. Then work work it through 'till you have what you want.
