    I have a Genesis website getting about 5,000 visitors a day. I am considering add a discussion forum to it. Over the past couple years, I've had several periods where I spent a few days looking at forum software I could use. Each time, I got frustrated at one aspect or another of all the forum software I looked at.

    My site makes it's money on advertising so it has to be something that easily allows Adsense placement flexibility.

    But maybe more importantly, my users are VERY much on the lower end of the technology scale. Really, really bad at figuring anything out technically. Easily confused. So, it has to be something that is foolproof to use.

    I'm also open to the Q&A style format that is popular now, rather than a regular forum.

    The one thing that really concerns me, with every forum solution I looked at, is spam.

    So, with all that said, I'm looking for a developer who specializes in adding discussion forums to Genesis sites, to get some ideas of what I can do and then install and customize for me. Is there anyone that specializes in this? Someone that has done this many times? I know I can run over to bbpress forum and ask for a contractor there, but I'm not necessarily convinced that I should use bbpress.

    Hi slobizman. I have been involved with a project for adding a discussion board (bbpress) to an existing website. However, it never got off the ground, so I can't say I have any experience with countering spam.

    I will say that you're right in making the countering of spam your biggest concern, and I think that you shouldn't settle to work with anyone who isn't experienced in that area.

    I say that because I recently discussed this issue with the owner of a discussion board (she also happens to use Genesis on her main site) and she says she threatened to shut it down because of the spam problem:
