    Hi all,

I have something I've never done before and I'm not sure where to start. I'm working on the portfolio for a client's site http://graybillcreative.com/arc/projects/. I'm using OTW Portfolio Light for the portfolio. My client wants the project page to pop up in a lightbox when you click on the project from the main portfolio page. Could someone help me figure out where to start?

I've been working on editing OTW's page templates and I've added rel="lightbox" to the links but that isn't working.

    Any ideas are appreciated!

You will probably have to change plugins because it does not look like yours has a lightbox feature. Check out this one

The problem is I need it to pop up and show a slideshow of multiple images not just the single image they clicked on. So, my plan was just to edit the plugin to make the page open in a lightbox.

Why don't you leave your plugin on the projects page as is and add a lightbox slideshow on the actual page?

Since the projects are just thumbnails on a page, and the "portfolio" information will never be displayed (instead, a pop-up gallery), you don't need the portfolio plugin.

Some Googling reveals a possible solution using NextGen Gallery, possibly with Easy Fancybox:

    From http://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-fancybox/faq/

Can I use ONE thumbnail to open a complete gallery ?
It can be done manually (using the internal WordPress gallery feature, or not) or in combination with NextGen Gallery.

    (details on the linked page)

This works: it displays a single image thumbnail from which the entire gallery may be displayed in the built-in lightbox (you don't necessarily need Easy FB). With some columns and care and CSS, this could work. A Pagebulder might help your client to maintain their projects page(s).

Another possibility I wondered about would be to consider a NextGen Album to be the project placeholder and have a single gallery open from the album thumbnail. NG Galleries can also display some description and title text, so you might get back an opportunity to display some of the project details with the images. Not sure that this will work.... It's been some time since I used NextGen Gallery and their 'update' to version 2 gives me little but headaches.
