MemberI am trying to change the layout of my homepage to look like the layout used in the demo (i.e. one category in a single column of featured posts followed by a second category of posts all in the same column. Then the third and fourth categories in a two column row underneath the single column using the Featured Left and Right widgets.
I hope I've explained clear enough so that it's not too confusing. Another example of what I am trying to accomplish is located at: http://www.hardbodynews.com
My Site: http://polarrvsales.com
To be more specific, I want one column of Posts on the homepage called "Featured Truck Campers" between the Featured Top Right and Featured Top Left widgets.

KeymasterHere are the instructions for setting up your site like the demo - http://my.studiopress.com/setup/lifestyle-theme/.

MemberMaybe I have a different version than the current demo because in addition to the sidebar widgets, I only have three homepage widget areas: Featured Top Left, Featured Top Right and Featured Bottom. I also don't have the "Portfolio" page layout option mentioned in the instructions.
If I update to Genesis 1.9.2 will I lose all the website content? If so, how do you suggest I backup the site?

KeymasterThere are a lot of ways to backup the site. I don't have enough information about your site to guide you really. Genesis 1.9.2 is the Framework - it is not the updated version of the Lifestyle theme. You would have to go to your download area and match up which theme version you have. Go here - my.studiopress.com. Look for Lifestyle and match the version found there to the version listed in your Style.css file. At that point - I can make suggestions.

MemberThe version I have installed is 1.1.1, which was awhile ago. The version listed within the my.studiopress.com page shows version 2.0.1. When you say match the version found there to the version listed in my Style.css file... I'm not following. The only version listed in the current downloadable version 2.0.1 and a link to Get Started.
How do I update my theme's version without losing all the content and data?

KeymasterI see. You have the really old version. If you want one single column, you will need to drag a Featured Posts widget into the same widget area as the Slider, drag it underneath the slider and then configure it the way you want it. You will have to drag two of these and configure each one for a particular category.

MemberUnfortunately I am using the Dynamic Content Galley ID method and there is no place for me to drag any of the Featured Posts underneath the slider in order to achieve a single column above the default double column layout.
I posted a new thread asking how to update the theme to the current version. Hopefully you can shed some light on that issue for me.
Thanks for your help!
