    Hello,
On my blog page, I would like an undated introduction (post) to stay at the top of the page and for the posts that follow to appear in smaller boxes, side by side, as show in the demo:
    http://my.studiopress.com/themes/lifestyle/#demo-full

    1. How do I make a single post always appear in the top portion
    2. How do I get articles to appear in two columns, below this main static article, as shown in the demo?

    Cheers!

Ans: You can make sticky post

    2. How do I get articles to appear in two columns, below this main static article, as shown in the demo?

Ans: You can try this plugin "Genesis Grid"

No they did not use the Plugin. They are using genesis_grid_loop function. If you have enough knowledge on PHP then you can make this custom loop for your static template page.

Ahhhh... so they're not using "stock" WP and theme then. This demo can be very misleading for folks who purchase the theme hoping to easily replicate the demo. I followed the setup directions and didn't come across any instructions on how to replicate these two columns.

No. I think that you did wrong setup. You created a page and go to Settings ->Reading section and choose a static front page right? Don't do this .

Theme have front-page.php and it is using the 4 widgets (Top, Middle, Bottom left & right) . So your home page is fully widgetize. You'll go to Appearance -> Widgets page and drag & drop the Genesis Featured Post or Page widget in Home Top, Home Middle, Home Bottom Left & Home Bottom Right widget area. Then you'll get demo style.

Makes a lot of sense. Thanks.
However, what I'm after is a static home page, which I have, and a blog page which has the boxes/cols underneath.
Is this possible on a blog page?

    Hi genwrock,
I tried the Genesis Grid but it doesn't support a blog style page, only archives and home page, etc.

Any other ideas to get columns in my post page?
    Cheers,
    G
