Launching my personal blog, Need feedback

Hi guys!

I know minimalism is all a rage now, and I love it - however I decided to go all out and picked a bold colour scheme for my blog. Please let me know if the whole thing is too off putting, or any other suggestions you might have. I have tried to keep it as clutter free as possible. In terms of content, there's nothing as of now except a few test posts.

Minimalism definitely has its place, but so do websites/blogs with bright color schemes. Like the red look of yours!

My only suggestion would be that in some instances, the text is difficult to read, particularly in parts of the sidebar and the footer. For example, in the sidebar, you have the text "small talk", and then next to it, something in a dark red font, which is too close to the color of the sidebar. I think it says "jabber jabber", but I couldn't read it easily.

You've definitely made some changes to the Minimum child theme!

Thank you, Susan! I'll change the text colour to something darker in the sidebars.

The colors are nice but as Susan pointed out, the sidebar is difficult to read. Also, the hover on the social icons it a bit too much. It would be better if it matched the mustard yellow of the other highlight items.

I'd also like to see the search matched better to the other blues like the blue in the header image. Right now there are a lot of things going on and the colors just don't feel balanced. Big and bold colors can be great but when the highlights don't match it gets muddled.

Thanks Nick, I'm working on updating the text on the sidebar titles. Also, do you mean the colour of the search button?

Yes, you have 2 or 3 different blues and 2 or 3 different yellows and 3 or 4 different shades of red. That's a lot of highlights.

1. Like the logo header.

2. Sidebar is also good, however change color of text under "serious stuff".

3. On single posts, either align comment form to center or padding more left padding.

4. You can also work more on design aspect of footer widgets.
