...along the lines of
http://demo.studiopress.com/denali/
or
http://themify.me/demo/themes/parallax/
My client really likes Themify Parallax, but I'd really like to keep it in the Genesis family if possible. Don't know if they can wait for Denali to become available (whenever that is) so I'm on the lookout for alternatives.
October 14, 2013 at 9:22 pm #66744SMB-devMemberWOW - That Danali is the ONE I have been waiting for...this is the First time I have observed any thing that SP was doing with Single Page/Paralax... where did you find this link ? This is beautiful and I have a site I want it on now.....any ideas on a release date ? Hell I would be willing to Beta test this....code anyone ??

October 15, 2013 at 12:39 am #66768jsperlMemberI got the link from the Cobalt apps forum but I think SP had blogged about it awhile back. I've contacted SP sales but they're mum on the release date. My client has a fixed deadline, and if I can't come up with a suitable Genesis solution in time...Themify it will be, unfortunately.
November 5, 2013 at 10:29 pm #71198BillParticipantinteresting you posted this. I had to start development on a site a few weeks ago using a themify parallax theme because there really are no genesis comparables...and I REALLY dislike using other themes. Genesis spoils you so much with consistency and reliability. However, its important to point out that even this unreleased Denali theme is not really Parallax. It uses fixed backgrounds, but Themify has more of a true parallax affect because the background of each parallax section actually is not fixed....it moves at a slower rate than the rest of the site's content.
Denali could probably be modified fairly easily with some JS though to accomplish the same. Also, Denali is not a one page site setup either.
I really wish there was a true equiv though because I think those themes you mention are really cool, but I love Genesis and hate deviating from it.... but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. ...and then probably regret it later. ๐
As a side note though, I was really impressed with the support... usually I am bitterly disappointed with support from other theme makers compared to what I am used to here....but I was pleasantly surprised. I still love genesis though.
November 5, 2013 at 11:46 pm #71207SummerMemberI've also been chomping at the bit to play with Denali, and after I saw it wasn't a true one-pager, I started wondering exactly how much coding it would take to convert an existing one-page parallax theme into a Genesis child theme.
I had a project in mind that could have used a parallax theme, and if it actually gets out of the starting gate, I may go with a nice one I found on Theme Forest, Jarvis, even though I really hesitate to step out of the Genesis sandbox unless I really have to.

Slice of SciFi | Writers, After DarkNovember 6, 2013 at 10:53 am #71267SMB-devMemberI am also in a bit of a quandary on this. I have several potential new clients ....waiting on a demo of Denali. They understand my reasoning for only supporting the Genesis Framework for now....but they are pretty insistent on a one page Parallax theme.
I did purchase a copy of Jarvis to see what all the fuss was about. It has some very good points, but has also had a number of issues too. When the dev guy pushes out an update and does not take the time to even roll the version number in all the proper locations....makes me wonder how really meticulous he/she was with their code and where else I may run into issues?
Yes, they do provide support....but it's not as detailed or expansive on what the SP folks provide. Also, a huge issue for me with this theme is no integration with GFORM.... in fact you have to hard code your Contact Form Info.... that is a big put-off, but so far my client really is leaning that way...this is not chump change were talking about..... I sure hope that Genesis comes up with something along this line pretty soon.

November 6, 2013 at 11:09 am #71274jsperlMemberI ended up going with this for now:
http://demo.zigzagpress.com/single
Like Denali, it is also not true parallax, but it is a single page theme, and best of all, a Genesis child theme. Fortunately it is the single page aspect, not so much true parallax that my client is interested in.
November 6, 2013 at 11:43 am #71276BillParticipantMediaGuru... Denali and a one page parallax theme really are two different things. I do understand your reservations from deviating away from studiopress. I have had some bad experiences in the past...lol. And yes, having their own contact form instead of a widget for Gforms is a bit of a bummer. It could be adapted though. They could probably do it for you fairly easily if you don't want to try it and was willing to throw a few bucks their way.
However I really would be pleasantly surprised if Genesis created a one page (with maybe on option to add outside pages) true parallax theme in the future, ....but I would not wait around for it and put off your client. SP tends to keep things pretty simple and let a designer do his or her own thing. You don't get tons of fancy bells and whistles with gadget-like features.... with SP...what you get is solid and secure framework, seo powerhouse, solid updates, and great support. I do wish SP would try a few fancier things like this though to shake things up.
I make take a stab at converting Denali when it comes out to a true parallax using some JS, but Its not gonna be a one page theme unless I use a SP one page theme to start with. Like Jsper1 suggested just above though...maybe a combo of the zigzag one page theme, and finding some Javascript already out there online may make exactly what you are looking for. If you get it to work, let me know!!! I sure would love that as well.
November 6, 2013 at 12:00 pm #71280SMB-devMemberBill, my reservations were not really about deviating from SP so much as the Genesis platform. Your comments otherwise are right on point. Sorry for the confusion on my part ๐
Jsperl - Dude you rock.... I was not aware of that designer.... they have some really nice themes and I am liking that SIngle Theme very much...Thanks for sharing.

November 6, 2013 at 1:03 pm #71297BillParticipantsorry...that's what I meant mediaguru. genesis framework.
November 7, 2013 at 12:10 am #71397SummerMember@mediaguru ZigZagPress' Megalithe used to be a community theme available here. I used the first version of it on a business media portfolio site, and they recently came out with a G2.0/HTML5 version of it.
I've also used Recreate and Prestige, but I'd never checked out Single... maybe now I need to ๐
