    Hey everyone,

I just purchased the Generate Pro child theme and I see that the theme is running a whole SEO show of settings. I wonder: do I still need the Yoast SEO plugin or does the child theme do the same?

    Cheers!

Funny that someone called Tijs should ask a question about Yoast's WordPress SEO plugin 🙂

the Generate Pro child theme ... is running a whole SEO show of settings

Can you expand on that? Are you really talking about the child theme ... or are you referring to the Genesis Framework itself?

do I still need the Yoast SEO plugin

Yes. Never rely on the SEO capabilities of a theme. If you do - and you later replace the theme - things will likely get confused. The Genesis Framework itself has certain key elements that play nice for some basic SEO best practices ... but it was never really designed to be a full-fledged SEO solution ... which is where the Yoast team come in.
