    Hello world!

I created a site using the Business Pro theme for a client. The PageSpeed Score is 93% and YSlow score is 76%/78% according to GTmetrix (it varies), the client would still like the site to load faster. When I run GTmetrix, sometimes the load speed is as low as 2.4 seconds, usually around 3.9, but sometimes 9! The homepage size is 1.02MB, 34 requests.

I have tried a bunch of speed-boosting plugins. Unfortunately GoDaddy won't let me use W3 Total Cache or WP Fastest Cache, but I am using Autoptimize, which helped a lot, and WP Performance Score Booster and WP Smush (though my images were already pretty web optimized and scaled) which boosted scores by a few percentage points. I tried some others like Far Future Expiration Plugin, Litespeed Cache, and Hummingbird, which didn't move the needle according to GTMetrix.

I would love to make the load time more consistent, but I'm out of tricks. Can anyone please make a recommendation? How independent is loading speed from PageSpeed and Yslow scores?

    Thank you!

GoDaddy is the last place you want to host a web site. I'd focus on moving it elsewhere and then going from there. WPEngine and StudioPress Sites are two great places. Also avoid BlueHost or any company under the umbrella of Endurance International Group (EIG). I used to use Hostgator as my primary host, a few years ago and as soon as they were bought by EIG, the quality of support and the support times plummeted.

We don't plan to move from GoDaddy. Overall I've had a good experience with them and like their support.

Any speed tips aside from hosting? Thanks.

Not using GoDaddy is the biggest speed improvement you could possibly make.

...Darn. I wasn't aware. I appreciate the information.
