    All of a sudden I am not able to insert hyperlinks on any of my WordPress sites in the visual editor. When I try to enter the URL and alt tag, it just doesn't take. I have to copy what I want from a word doc or add it in the text editor. Any ideas??

    I found a solution that worked for me, leaving here in case it helps someone:

    All of a sudden I could not hyperlink anything in my WP, found this work-around that fixed my problem:

    Deactivate ALL plugins.
    Switch to default TwentyFourteen theme.
    Manually empty browser cache.
    If the visual editor doesn’t work after disabling all plugins and switching to the default theme, there could be a JavaScript issue.

    In my case it turned out to be the Ultimate NoFollow plugin that was giving me trouble, I replaced with Rel NoFollow Checkbox. All together it took me about 30 minutes to find the problem and fix it.
