How to rollback WordPress 4.6 update?

Hello,
I updated WordPress to 4.6 from 4.4. The Genesis Simple Sidebars plugin no long works. The sidebars are critical to my site and I don't know how to make them without the Genesis plugin. Is there a way to rollback WordPress to 4.4 WITHOUT wrecking my site?

There is a manual process via FTP that you have to do. I've seen most people pointed to this article: http://dominiquej.com/how-to-downgrade-wordpress-to-previous-version/

This article points you first to this directory which holds all of the previous versions: https://wordpress.org/download/release-archive/

NOTE: do not copy over the wp-content directory from the previous version.

Are you using the latest version of Genesis Simple Sidebars?
Are you receiving any error messages?
I haven't seen any problems with it and WordPress 4.6

Even if there is an incompatibility with your site, there are plenty of different widget plugins in the WordPress repository ( Widget Logic, Content Aware Sidebars,... ) that I would try before getting stuck with an outdated WordPress version.

Thanks for the help. I finally noticed that i somehow missed a Genesis framework update and it was out of date. Once I updated the framework, the Simple Sidebars plugin started working again.
