I want to make a post always display at the top of the home page.

I use the [Stick this post to the front page] function: I go to Posts>under the post title, click [Edit]. At the right side bar: [Publish] dropdown>Visibility: click [Edit]>select [Public]>tick [Stick this post to the front page]>click [OK]>click [Update]

There is a grey background on the sticky post. How do I remove the grey background to make the stick post look like a normal post?

Is there any better way to make a post always at the top of the home page?

    Thanks

Please use Firebug to find the class and change the color value.

Usually, the class is just .sticky and is a class assigned by WordPress. Regarding alternate ways to keep a post at the top of your blog page, setting it to sticky is the way to go.
