    I'd like to make a couple of "private" posts that can be accessed by anyone who knows the link but that won't be picked up by Google. I'm not sure which options to select.

    For example, I might want to put a link to a "Pricing" article in my sidebar which anyone could click on but Google couldn't access.

    You need to no index those links and pages. See here.

    Wow, it takes 3 pages to explain how to do this with Yoast (which I don't have). I guess this isn't something people normally do. I'll look for another solution. Thanks.

    If you're using the default SEO settings in Genesis you should be able to noindex pages but it really sounds like you may need some sort of membership plugins - even if it's a basic/simple one.
