How do I get line numbers to appear in the CSS stylesheet?

I read instructions and see screenshots of lines with numbers on the left, and people say "go to line #xxxx" in your style.css and change this to that...", but where are the numbers?

Probably they use external code editor.

It's not recommended to edit the code directly from your dashboard if you're not sure what to do. Always have a backup/copy of your file before making any changes.

Btw, if you still want to edit the code directly from your dashboard, try install this pluginĀ http://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-code-editor/
