    I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good way to get visitors to subscribe to a site.

    One approach is for them to ask to be notified for every new post.

    The other is to send them a daily or weekly summary of recent posts.

    If you're doing this, what do you think works best? I looked at one that will send a summary of daily posts but they want a monthly fee for it.

    MailChimp has an RSS to Email where subscribers will receive your posts daily or weekly. I set these up for clients all the time - https://mailchimp.com/help/share-your-blog-posts-with-mailchimp/.
