How do I use 1 footer instead of the 3 (eleven40 pro)

I'd like to be able to use just one centrally placed footer similar to this: http://thelilypadrussellville.com/

I thought that if I just placed all of my content in the footer 2 text widget and centrally aligned it that would do. But when i place text only in the footer 2 widget nothing displays, I have to put it in footer 1 but then its right aligned not centrally aligned. So seem if you only want to use one footer you have to use footer 1!!!

I'd also like to add the think double lines above and below the foot as in the example.

Here are the instructions to have a single footer widget area:

In functions.php

/** Remove Genesis footer widgets **/
remove_theme_support( 'genesis-footer-widgets', 3 );

Now that you’ve removed the footer widget it’s easy to add just a single footer widget area:

/** Add support for 1 footer widget **/
add_theme_support( 'genesis-footer-widgets', 1 );

Now, the Genesis CSS will have styling for 3 footer areas. You can remove it and start with the following:

.footer-widgets-1 {
text-align: center;
width: 100%;
}
