MemberWorking on a client's site right now, using Lifestyle theme, and she has a page where she needs her students to be able to download and print a couple of pdf forms. http://jens-academy.com/how-to-register/
In every browser except Firefox, if a visitor clicks on either of the links, a pdf opens. In Firefox, nothing happens at all.
Other than telling visitors to use a different browser, which I don't think should ever be done, is there any sort of plugin that will allow easier opening and/or downloading of a pdf file?

KeymasterHi Paul, as far as I know - this functionality is based on the settings of the individual person's browser settings. Go to Options, then Applications. You should see Adobe Acrobat in this list. They open just fine for me in my browser. Here's more information on it from Mozilla - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/view-pdf-files-firefox-without-downloading-them.

MemberThis is frustrating me; I've got all of the settings set as they should be, and still nothing happens. I've had a few other clients complain about the same issue, so I was hoping maybe there was some sort of plugin to install in WP that would make it easier. I'd really rather not have to include a long list of special instructions just for Firefox users. This the one thing that I really dislike with using Firefox, as every other browser opens pdf files with no troubles.
I like the way files can be downloaded at http://pghnazarene.org/index.php/resources-mainmenu-88/documents?view=category&id=4 and was hoping the was some similar availability in WP?

KeymasterWhat you are looking for I think would be consider "document management". Look in the WordPress Plugin Repository for that and you will get quite a number of things. See if any of those will work for you.

Member@Paul, what settings are you using in your Firefox?
I'm using FF 23.0.1 on a Mac, and the first PDF in your link opened in the browser for me just fine, but you could put instructions in there to let everyone just right-click and download the file, too.
Most of the document mgmt plugins I've seen help groups handle revisions of multiple documents, like a repository of tech manuals or the like... is she planning to have a lot of documents, because that seems like overkill for a single registration form to me 🙂
